Craftsmanship is demonstrated by the careful incorporation of a railing system into the existing structure of this portico. The free-flowing line of the rail and spacing of the balusters uniformly fit large and small spaces.

The architectural flair of this entrance is dramatically impacted by the use of turned spindle porch railings, securely anchored to the masonry by internal steel reinforcements.

The dramatic length of this stairway created a design challenge. Using our StairMaster® software, the railings were engineered to maintain the constant pitch of the stairs, while achieving a uniform line over the entire distance. The solution included mounting the post to the tread, while the bottom rail was fastened to the riser, providing maximum width in the stairway.
